Fridge and refrigerator repair in Barrhaven

A refrigerator that stops holding its temperature can’t wait: food on a warm shelf begins to spoil within hours, and the freezer follows not long after. Not cooling, even though the light comes on

The interior light, and sometimes a fan, can keep running while no cold air reaches the shelves. The usual culprits are a dead evaporator fan, an evaporator coil buried in frost, a failed compressor start relay or a damper stuck shut. Freezer still cold, fridge side warm

Here the freezer keeps working and the trouble lies in how cold air reaches the fresh-food side. Nearly always the evaporator coil has iced over because the defrost heater, defrost thermostat or control board failed, or the air damper feeding the fridge side is blocked or stuck. Side-by-side and French-door units, both common in Barrhaven homes, show this fault often.

Water on the floor or under the crisper

Most leaks start at a defrost drain that has clogged or frozen, a cracked water-line fitting on a fridge with an ice and water dispenser, or a door gasket that no longer seals and lets humid air inside. Standing water damages the hardwood and laminate floors in many newer Barrhaven kitchens, so mop it up, lay a towel along the base and book soon. No ice, or the dispenser has stopped

An empty ice bin or a dispenser that won’t pour usually points to the supply side: a frozen fill tube, a clogged filter or a failed water-inlet valve. The ice-maker module itself can also fail. These are familiar faults on Samsung, LG and Whirlpool dispenser fridges; see ice maker not working.

Buzzing, clicking or a fridge that never shuts off

A compressor that clicks on and off often has a failing start relay, a buzz or rattle can come from a worn condenser or evaporator fan, and a fridge that never cycles off has a cooling or airflow fault. Having it checked early can spare the compressor, the costliest part in a refrigerator; see fridge making noise.

1. Request. Book online any time or phone us. A request doesn’t reserve a time on its own: we call or text back to agree on a window of roughly three hours and note the fridge’s make and model.
2. Diagnosis. The technician tests the compressor and start relay, condenser and evaporator fans, defrost system, thermostat, control board, dampers, door gaskets and, on dispenser models, the water and ice circuit.
3. Written quote. Nothing is repaired until you approve a written price. The $89 + tax residential diagnostic counts toward that repair once you go ahead; a sealed-system fault (compressor or refrigerant) has a $159 + tax diagnostic instead, with the repair quoted by phone.
4. Afterwards. You get a written diagnostic report, and the repair carries a 3-month warranty on parts and labour; ask for the written terms.

A flat $100 after-hours fee applies to visits between 9 PM and 7 AM.
