Appliance Installation Ottawa | Professional Service
New appliance delivered? B&M Canada provides professional appliance installation across Ottawa and Gatineau — washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, gas hook-ups, and more.
Frequently Asked Questions
What a Professional Installation Includes
Every B&M Canada installation follows the same checklist: we confirm the space, clearances and connections before the appliance is moved into place, level and secure the unit, make the water, drain, electrical or gas connections to code, then run a full test cycle before we leave. You get a working appliance, not a box pushed against the wall — and we take the packaging with us.
Proper installation matters for more than convenience. Most manufacturers can deny a warranty claim if a fault is traced back to an incorrect hook-up, and insurers ask the same question after a water or gas incident. A documented, professional installation protects both.
Appliance-by-Appliance Installation Notes
Washers and dryers
Washer installs include new fill-hose connections, drain positioning and levelling so the drum doesn’t walk during spin. Dryer installs include venting — a crushed or overlong vent line is the number-one cause of long dry times and a real fire risk. Gas dryers are connected and leak-tested by a TSSA-certified technician.
Dishwashers
We handle the water supply, the high-loop or air-gap drain (required to stop dirty water siphoning back), the electrical connection, and secure the unit to the counter so it doesn’t tip when the door is loaded.
Ranges, stoves and cooktops
Electric ranges get the correct 240 V connection; gas ranges are hooked up, leak-tested and flame-checked. Every freestanding range should have its anti-tip bracket installed — we fit it as part of the job.
Refrigerators
Fridge installs cover levelling (doors seal properly only when the cabinet is level), connecting and flushing the ice-maker water line, and setting door swing where the model allows it.
Over-the-range microwaves
OTR microwaves need solid anchoring into studs, correct venting (recirculating or exterior), and a dedicated outlet. This is the install homeowners most often regret attempting alone — the units are heavy and the mounting is unforgiving.
Installation Pricing
Installation is quoted up front based on the appliance and the state of the existing connections — you approve a written price before any work starts. If you’re replacing a failed appliance and want a second opinion first, our standard diagnostic visit is $89 + tax for residential appliances ($129 + tax commercial), and we’ll tell you honestly whether repair or replacement makes more sense.
Where We Install
We install across Ottawa — including Barrhaven, Kanata, Nepean, Orléans and Stittsville — and across the river in Gatineau, Hull and Aylmer. Same-day and next-day slots are usually available, and you can book online 24/7.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you install an appliance I bought somewhere else?
Yes. We install appliances purchased from any retailer — big-box, local or online. Have it delivered and we’ll take it from there.
Do you disconnect and remove the old appliance?
We disconnect the old unit as part of the installation. Let us know when booking if you need the old appliance moved or hauled away and we’ll confirm options and pricing.
Are you licensed for gas hook-ups?
Yes — gas connections are done by TSSA-certified technicians and leak-tested before we leave. Never connect a gas appliance yourself.
How long does an installation take?
Most single-appliance installs take 45–90 minutes. Gas conversions, built-in dishwashers replacing older models, and OTR microwaves can take longer.
Is the installation guaranteed?
Yes — our work carries a 3-month warranty on parts and labour, the same guarantee we offer on repairs.
