02Common faults
Typical Miele faults and their causes
- Miele dishwasher Inlet or Drain indicator lit: a water inlet valve, the drain pump or its non-return valve, or a blocked hose. Many cases start with clogged filters in the base of the tub.
- Miele washer F53 fault code: a drive or motor fault; we check the motor, its wiring and the control electronics before replacing anything.
- Miele dryer not heating: a failed heating element or PTC resistor.
- Miele fridge not cooling: an iced evaporator, a fan or a compressor issue.
- Miele oven temperature sensor failure: temperatures drift or the oven shows a fault; the sensor is replaced and the oven rechecked.

When a Miele refrigerator turns out to have a compressor or refrigerant problem, that work uses the $159 + tax sealed-system diagnostic, and the labour is quoted by phone. Ovens and induction cooktops run on 240 volts, so please leave panels closed; the technician isolates power before testing elements, sensors and boards.
