Premium appliance repair in Rockcliffe Park, Ottawa

Rockcliffe Park, the former village beside New Edinburgh and Manor Park on the Ottawa River, has one of the highest concentrations of premium built-in appliances in the city. The kitchens along Acacia Avenue, Lansdowne Road, Mariposa Avenue, Crescent Road and Springfield Road typically run Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, Bosch, Thermador, Viking, Gaggenau and Liebherr, often with a second fridge or wine column in the butler’s pantry. We have been repairing appliances in Ottawa since 1995.

Premium appliances reward a precise diagnosis. A built-in fridge fitted into millwork or a dual-fuel range with its own ignition module is not a plug-and-play swap, so the technician tests until the failed part is confirmed and quotes the repair in writing before going further. Give us the model and serial number when you book: it lets us check parts availability before the visit, which is often the difference between one visit and a wait for parts. We carry out factory-authorized repairs, gas work is done by TSSA-certified technicians, and service is in English or French.

04Common problems

Premium appliance faults we see in Rockcliffe Park

Sub-Zero 650, 611 and 700-series: fresh-food side running warm

The classic Sub-Zero call from the Acacia, Mariposa and Lansdowne stretch is a 650-series side-by-side or a 700-series integrated column whose refrigerator side climbs into the high 40s °F (about 8–9 °C) while the freezer holds. That pattern usually points to a failed evaporator fan motor or to a fault in the sealed refrigeration system. A fan motor can often be replaced on the first visit when we know the model in advance and the part is available; a sealed-system fault has its own $159 + tax diagnostic, and that repair is quoted by phone. Have the model tag ready when you book (inside the fridge on the upper-left wall on many units). For the general diagnostic path, see fridge not cooling.

Miele dishwasher F-codes (F11, F14, F18, F70) in Manor Park

Manor Park’s newer infills along Hemlock Road and the Beechwood backstreets have plenty of Miele G6000 and G7000 dishwashers. The most common call is an F11 drain fault caused by a blocked or hardened drain-pump impeller, or an F18 water-intake fault caused by an under-sink shut-off left partly closed after kitchen renovation work. Opening that valve fully is a safe first check; a drain fault needs the pump cleared or replaced. For a wider overview, see dishwasher not draining and Miele dishwasher repair.

Wolf dual-fuel ranges on Crescent Road and Springfield Road

Wolf 36-inch and 48-inch dual-fuel ranges show two failure modes most often. A single burner that won’t light usually comes down to a failing spark module or a dirty or misaligned igniter electrode, often a short repair. An oven that hums but won’t reach temperature can point to a failed convection-fan motor. Burner-side work is gas work, done by our TSSA-certified technicians with a $129 + tax diagnostic. See oven not heating for the broader oven diagnosis.

Built-in fridges and integrated columns

Rockcliffe has more built-in and panel-ready integrated fridges than most Ottawa neighbourhoods. They are fitted into millwork, sometimes with stone surrounds, and often paired with a separate freezer column or wine cellar. We repair Sub-Zero, Liebherr Monolith, Miele MasterCool and Thermador Freedom integrated units. For brand-specific fridge work, see GE fridge repair for GE Monogram built-ins and Samsung fridge repair for Samsung Bespoke and panel-ready models.

Wine columns and pantry fridges

Wine columns and undercounter fridges in pantries and bars fail in much the same ways as a main fridge: a fan that has stopped, a failing thermostat or temperature sensor, or a door seal that no longer closes fully. Because wine storage depends on a steady temperature, note the readings each zone is showing and mention them when you book.

05Everyday repairs

Refrigerator, washer and dryer repair in Rockcliffe Park homes

Not every call here is a Sub-Zero. Many homes also have mainstream fridges, a laundry pair in the basement and a second freezer, and the approach is the same for all of them: test, find the failed part, show you what is wrong and quote the repair in writing.

Refrigerators and freezers

A fridge that runs warm usually has one failing component in its cooling cycle. Our technicians test the defrost heater, bi-metal thermostat, sensor and timer or board, the evaporator and condenser fans, the start relay and the controls. An iced-up coil hidden behind the freezer panel is a frequent discovery and generally means the defrost system has failed, which is often fixed on the first visit. Other regular fixes are water under the crisper drawers, ice makers that stop filling or dispense slowly, leaking or noisy water valves, gaskets that let warm air in and loud fans or compressors, on French-door, side-by-side, top- and bottom-freezer, built-in and panel-ready models and on upright and chest freezers. If an older unit’s compressor has failed, we tell you honestly whether the repair makes sense.

Washers

A washer stopped mid-cycle with a full tub usually has a blocked drain path: a sock or coin in the pump, a clogged filter, a kinked hose or a worn drain pump. If the drum refuses to spin, the belt, motor coupler, lid switch or door lock and motor control board are tested, and banging on spin points to worn shock absorbers, suspension springs or drum bearings. Leaks are traced to the door boot, fill hoses, detergent dispenser, pump or tub seal and repaired properly. We cover top-load, front-load, compact and stacked washers and washer-dryer combos.

Dryers

Damp loads after a full cycle mean checking airflow and heat: a thermal fuse blown by a blocked vent, a burnt-out element, a failed thermostat, or on gas dryers the igniter, flame sensor or gas valve coil. A dryer that won’t turn on usually has a failed door switch, start switch, thermal fuse or control board, and squeaks, grinding or thumping come from drum rollers, the belt or the idler pulley. Gas and electric, stacked and compact models are all covered, and we tell you if the vent needs cleaning.

06Kitchen repairs

Dishwasher, oven, cooktop and microwave repair in Rockcliffe Park

Dishwashers

A puddle, a gritty film or dishes that come out dirty usually trace to the filter and sump, the drain pump and hose, the spray arms, the inlet valve, the heating element or the door seal; when the unit won’t start, we test the control board and door latch. Pumps, inlet valves, gaskets, latches, heating elements and float switches are the common replacements on built-in, panel-ready and compact dishwashers. Tell us any code or beep pattern when you book.

Ovens, ranges and cooktops

Slow preheating, uneven baking or no heat usually comes down to a bake or broil element, a temperature sensor, a stuck relay on the control board or a door lock that stayed engaged after self-clean. Cooktop work covers dead elements, failed infinite switches, glass-top controls that no longer respond and induction zones that don’t recognize a pan. We handle gas, electric and induction ranges, wall ovens and cooktops, freestanding, slide-in and built-in; gas burners that won’t light, igniters that click non-stop and weak or uneven flames are TSSA-certified work.

If you smell gas, leave the home and call Enbridge Gas from outside before arranging any repair.

Microwaves and ventilation

Built-in, drawer and over-the-range microwaves get magnetron, high-voltage diode and capacitor, door switch, turntable motor, exhaust fan and control board repairs; wall-mount, island and downdraft hoods get fan, light and switch repairs. On a countertop microwave, we tell you honestly whether repair is worth it.

07Your visit

How our Rockcliffe Park repair process works

  1. Request a visit. Book online at any time or call, and give us the model and serial number so we can check parts before the visit. The request becomes an appointment when we call or text to confirm a window of about three hours.
  2. Tell us about the home. Mention finished floors, millwork, parking or access details so the technician can plan the visit.
  3. Diagnosis and written quote. The diagnostic is $89 + tax ($129 + tax for gas appliances) and is applied toward the repair you approve; a sealed-system fault has its own $159 + tax diagnostic, with that repair quoted by phone.
  4. Repair. Plenty of repairs are finished during the first visit; when a premium part has to be ordered, we tell you the timeline up front.
  5. Report and warranty. You receive a written diagnostic report, and the repair carries a 3-month warranty on parts and labour; ask for the written terms.

We work between 7 AM and 9 PM. A visit outside those hours, for a failed fridge or freezer for example, carries a $100 flat after-hours fee.

613-301-0016
Do you bring Sub-Zero and Wolf parts on the first visit?

It depends on the part. Give us the model and serial number when you book so we can check availability before the visit; a repair that needs a common part, such as an evaporator fan motor, igniter electrode or spark module, can often be finished on the first visit. Less common parts, like specific door cassettes or ice-maker assemblies on older 700-series units, are diagnosed on the first visit and ordered, with the timeline up front.

Can you do warranty repairs for premium brands?

If your appliance is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, contact the manufacturer first, since the repair may be covered. Once it is out of warranty, we diagnose and quote it like any other repair.

How much does a Sub-Zero or Wolf repair cost in Rockcliffe?

The diagnostic is $89 + tax, $129 + tax for gas appliances or $159 + tax for a sealed-system fault. Sub-Zero condenser-fan and Wolf igniter repairs typically fall between $380 and $650 in total, but every repair is quoted in writing before any work, and sealed-system labour is quoted by phone. Our appliance repair cost guide explains what drives the price.

Do you offer evening and weekend appointments in Rockcliffe?

Our service hours are 7 AM to 9 PM, and visits between 9 PM and 7 AM add a $100 flat after-hours fee (see after-hours appliance repair). For weekend availability, ask when you book or see weekend appliance repair.

Do you service New Edinburgh, Manor Park and Lindenlea?

Yes. We cover all of Rockcliffe Park and the neighbourhoods around it, including New Edinburgh, Manor Park, Lindenlea and Vanier, with no travel charge.

Is gas work on Wolf and Thermador ranges done by certified technicians?

Yes. Gas ranges, rangetops and cooktops are repaired by our TSSA-certified technicians.
