Speed Queen is made by Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon, Wisconsin, the same company that builds machines for laundromats. The home models borrow that design: heavy steel parts, simple controls and mechanical drives. We service the classic TC5 top-loader with its mechanical transmission, the electronic TR top-loaders, FF front-loaders, and the matching electric and gas dryers.

Common Speed Queen problems we fix

  • Speed Queen washer not agitating: the transmission or the agitator coupling. If the motor runs but the agitator stays still, the drive belt is the first check; a motor that only hums needs testing before any part is changed.
  • Speed Queen washer leaking: the tub seal or the pump gasket, sometimes a loose hose clamp under the tub.
  • Speed Queen dryer not heating: a blown thermal fuse or a failed heating element on electric models; on gas dryers, the igniter or the gas valve coils.
  • Speed Queen drum belt failure: the drum stops turning while the motor runs, and the belt is replaced along with any worn idler.

In Ontario, gas Speed Queen dryers are repaired by our TSSA-certified technicians, and the gas diagnostic is $129 + tax; in Gatineau, gas service is confirmed when you book. If you smell gas near the dryer, leave the home and call Enbridge Gas (Gazifère on the Quebec side) or 911 from outside before booking a repair.
