Stove and oven repair in Orléans

• Avalon and Cardinal Creek: newer builds, largely fitted with slide-in electric and induction ranges and touch panels. Faults here tend to be electronic: a sensor, a keypad, a board relay or an induction power board.
• Fallingbrook and Chapel Hill: many homes cook on gas, so the calls are about igniters, spark modules, burner ports and gas oven ignition.
• Convent Glen and Orléans Village: plenty of older coil-element stoves, which wear out elements, receptacles and infinite switches. Those parts cost little, so the repair is usually worth doing.

When one coil burner stays cold, swap it with a burner of the same size: if the fault moves with the coil, the element is bad; if it stays put, the receptacle or switch is the problem. Do this only with the burners off and cool. On glass-top ranges the radiant elements sit under the glass, along with a limiter that protects the surface from overheating, and each one can be replaced on its own.

Gas ranges, cooktops and ovens are repaired by our TSSA-certified technicians. A burner that won’t light usually has a wet or dirty igniter, a burner cap that isn’t seated, or blocked ports. A gas oven that is slow to light, or doesn’t light at all, most often has a glow-bar igniter that has weakened with age. An oven that bakes unevenly or runs hot or cold usually has a weak bake element, a sensor that has drifted, or a control relay that no longer switches cleanly. If the oven went dead or stayed locked once a self-clean finished, look to the thermal fuse or the door-lock motor. Ranges that show an error code, ignore the touch panel or won’t power on are tested at the control board, keypad and wiring.
