Short answer

B&M Canada Appliances repairs stoves, ranges, wall ovens and cooktops in Rockland, Morris Village, Clarence Creek, St-Pascal-Baylon, Bourget and Hammond. We fix ovens that won’t heat, burners that stay cold, gas igniters, error codes and self-clean failures, on electric, gas and induction models. You can book and be served in French or English. Because Rockland lies just outside 30 km from downtown Ottawa, there may be a travel charge, which we confirm at booking.

01What is it doing?

Common oven & range problems

Each guide explains what the symptom usually points to and what is safe to check yourself. Ready to book? Pick the symptom and it is filled in for you.

02A commuter town

Morris Village subdivisions and older village homes

Rockland is one of Eastern Ontario’s fastest-growing commuter towns. Whole subdivisions in Morris Village are reaching the age where builder-grade ranges fail out of warranty, usually at an oven sensor, a glass-top element, a touch panel or a control board relay. Meanwhile, Clarence Creek and the rural concessions keep older workhorse stoves running on farms and village lots, where the faults are more often worn coil elements, scorched receptacles and tired switches.

Municipal water serves Rockland proper, but the rural side of Clarence-Rockland runs on wells, and scale and sediment show up in every wet appliance out there. If your dishwasher or washer is struggling as well, see Rockland dishwasher repair and washer repair.

03Service en français

Bilingual stove repair in Clarence-Rockland

Service is fully bilingual. You can book in French or English, and the technician explains the fault, the options and the written quote in the language you prefer. Nothing is repaired until you approve the price, and each repair comes with a 3-month warranty covering parts and labour.

When you book, tell us the make, model and fuel type of the range. You will usually find the model number on a sticker around the oven door opening or under the storage drawer, and having it lets the technician bring the most likely parts.

04Weeknight breakdowns

When the oven quits before supper

In a commuter household, the oven usually fails when you get home and start cooking. Online requests are accepted any time, but a request only becomes an appointment when we call or text back with a time window of around three hours. If the day’s route has an opening, that can be the same day. Between 9 PM and 7 AM, a $100 flat after-hours fee applies on top of the regular rates.

While you wait, a few checks are safe to try:

  • Look at the electrical panel: a range is on a two-pole breaker; if it has tripped, reset it fully, off and then on. A breaker that has partly failed can leave the oven dead while some burners still heat.
  • Check that control lock, delay start or Sabbath mode isn’t switched on.
  • After a power cut, set the clock; some ovens refuse to run until it is set.
  • On a gas range, check whether the other burners light, and don’t keep trying a burner that won’t catch.

05Range faults

What goes wrong with Rockland ranges

Oven heating problems

A worn-out bake or broil element, a temperature sensor that has drifted, or an aging gas-oven igniter. The technician measures the actual temperature against the setting before deciding which part is at fault; see oven not heating.

Cooktop problems

Elements that have burnt out, glass-top zones that stay cold, switches that no longer regulate the heat, and induction zones that won’t detect the pan.

Gas ranges

Igniters that won’t spark, a ragged or uneven flame, and gas ovens that take minutes to light, all repaired by our TSSA-certified technicians; gas visits are $129 + tax. Smell gas? Leave right away and phone Enbridge Gas from outside before anything else.

Self-clean and electronics

A thermal fuse or door lock taken out by self-clean heat, and control boards, keypads or sensors logging error codes. We read the code and test before quoting.

Brands we repair in Clarence-Rockland include LG, Samsung, GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Maytag, Bosch, Electrolux, Kenmore and Jenn-Air. More on range work is on our Ottawa stove repair page.

06East of Orléans

Serving Rockland and the east end

We cover Morris Village, the riverside core, Clarence Creek, St-Pascal-Baylon and out to Bourget and Hammond, plus nearby Orléans, Bourget and Alfred and Plantagenet. Rockland rides our east-end routes past Orléans. For other appliances there is Rockland fridge repair and dryer repair, and the Clarence-Rockland appliance repair page covers the rest.

Questions, answered

Something else? Call and ask.

613-301-0016
Can I book my stove repair in French?

Yes. The whole visit can be in French or English, from the first call to the written quote.

Is Rockland inside your no-travel-fee zone?

Not quite. Rockland is a little beyond the 30 km radius we cover without a travel fee, so a charge may apply, and we let you know at booking.

My oven quit in the evening. Can someone come tonight?

Possibly, if the schedule still has an opening before 9 PM. A visit between 9 PM and 7 AM adds a $100 flat after-hours fee, so ask when you book whether one is possible; otherwise we book you into the first open window.

Do you cover Clarence Creek, Bourget and Hammond?

Yes. We serve all of Clarence-Rockland, including Clarence Creek, St-Pascal-Baylon, Bourget and Hammond as well as Rockland itself.

Is gas range repair available in Rockland?

Yes. Gas ranges in Rockland are serviced by TSSA-certified technicians, with a $129 + tax diagnostic for any gas appliance.

My range is out of the builder’s warranty. Is it worth fixing?

Usually. Most common stove repairs cost between $150 and $350 all-in, well below a new range. We quote in writing first, and the $89 + tax visit fee is credited against the repair if you approve it.
