Short answer
Washer not spinning, not draining, leaking mid-cycle or shaking hard enough to walk across the laundry room? Our washing machine repair covers all of Nepean: Bells Corners, Centrepointe, Tanglewood, Craig Henry, Qualicum and the Merivale corridor. Nepean is inside our core Ottawa zone, within 30 km of downtown, so there is no travel fee. Same-day visits are available when the schedule allows, and every repair is quoted in writing first.

02Nepean homes
Washer repair for every corner of Nepean
From stacked front-loader pairs squeezed into Merivale-corridor condos to full-size top-loaders in Trend-Arlington and Crystal Beach family homes, Nepean’s washers work hard, and the ageing supply lines in older west-end homes don’t do their valves any favours. B&M Canada Appliances has serviced washing machines across Ottawa since 1995.
Tell us the make and model when you book and the technician can bring the likely pump, belt, lid lock or door boot. Because all of Nepean sits within 30 km of downtown, there’s never a travel or kilometre charge added to the service call.
03Frequent faults
Washer problems we fix across Nepean
Washer won’t spin or agitate
Usually a worn drive belt, a failed lid-lock or door-latch assembly, a bad motor coupler or a control fault. A drum that turns freely by hand but not under power is the giveaway. See washer not spinning for more.
Won’t drain, clothes sitting in water
Most often a drain pump blocked by a sock, coin or bra wire, or a pump that has simply burned out. We clear or replace it and check the drain hose routing while we’re in there.
Leaking onto the laundry-room floor
Front-loader door-boot seals, cracked fill hoses, loose drain connections and worn tub seals are the usual sources. A small leak caught early is a modest fix; a slow drip into the subfloor of a Centrepointe two-storey is not, so book at the first puddle.
Violent shaking or banging on spin
Failed suspension rods or shock absorbers, a shredded damper ring, or simply an unbalanced machine on an uneven floor. We replace the worn suspension parts and level the unit properly. Our washer shaking guide explains the causes.
Won’t start, stops mid-cycle or throws error codes
Door-lock faults, failed water-inlet valves, pressure-switch problems and control-board errors all show up this way. We read the code, test the actual component and quote before replacing anything.
04Older plumbing
Old valves and hoses: keeping Nepean washers alive
A lot of Nepean’s housing dates from the 1960s through the 1980s, and the supply plumbing in those homes is harder on washers than the machines let on. Ottawa’s city water is fairly soft, but grit and corrosion flakes from older pipes and shut-off valves slowly choke the inlet-valve screens, so machines fill more slowly every year until a cycle times out. Rubber fill hoses from the same era harden and split, and a burst fill hose is the most expensive “washer” failure there is, because the damage is to the house rather than the machine.
When we’re on site in Parkwood Hills, City View or Bells Corners, we check the valve screens and the age of the hoses as part of the diagnosis, and can quote braided stainless lines to replace hardened hoses.
For front-loader owners: leaving the door cracked between loads and running a monthly hot maintenance cycle prevents most of the seal mould and odour we see in Centrepointe condos.

06How it works
How your Nepean washer repair works
Book online at any time or call. Once we confirm a time window of about three hours by call or text, the request becomes an appointment. On site the technician runs the machine and tests the motor, pump, valves, suspension, door lock and control board, then gives you a written price before any work starts. If you go ahead, the $89 + tax residential diagnostic is credited toward the repair.
You receive a written diagnostic report, and every repair carries a 3-month warranty on parts and labour. Need someone between 9 PM and 7 AM? After-hours visits add a $100 flat fee to regular rates.

Can you come today? The washer quit mid-load.
Quite possibly: we fit same-day visits in when the schedule allows. Send a request or call as early as you can, and we’ll confirm the first open window by call or text.
Do you charge extra to come out to Bells Corners?
No. Bells Corners and all of Nepean are inside our core service area, so it’s just the $89 + tax residential diagnostic, with no travel fee.
My front-loader smells and leaks at the door. Same problem?
Usually. A worn or mouldy door-boot seal both leaks and smells, and replacing the boot and cleaning the gasket channel fixes both.
Is a 10-year-old washer worth fixing?
If it’s a pump, belt, lock or suspension part, usually yes; the repair is a fraction of replacement. If the bearing or drum spider has gone on a budget front-loader, we’ll tell you honestly that replacement is smarter.
Is the work covered by a warranty?
Yes: every repair has a 3-month warranty on parts and labour. Ask for the written terms.
