Appliance repair in Nepean

Fridge not cooling

Dishwasher not draining

Standing water usually points to a blocked filter or drain hose, a failed drain pump or a stuck check valve. Codes such as E24, E01 or F7 are worth noting, but their meaning depends on the brand (on a Bosch, E24 is a drain fault), so give us the exact code. See dishwasher not draining.

What you do in the first hour after a breakdown can prevent bigger problems. These steps are safe and need no tools or disassembly.

Fridge or freezer

• Keep door openings to a minimum and move perishables somewhere cold if needed.
• Note whether the whole fridge is warm or only one section.
• Write down any clicking, unusual sounds or heavy frost.

Washer

• If water is standing or leaking, stop the cycle and avoid repeated testing.
• Note whether it drains partly or not at all, and whether it tries to spin.
• Photograph any error code.

Dryer

• Stop using it if you smell burning or it is overheating.

• Note whether there is no heat at all or only long drying times.
• Describe any squeal, thump or rattle and when it happens.

Dishwasher

• If it leaks, stop using it and dry the floor to prevent water damage.
• Note whether it stops mid-cycle, leaves water behind or cleans poorly, and photograph any code.
