LG washer repair in Gatineau

A washer that quits mid-cycle leaves the drum locked and full of water, and laundry piles up fast in a family home. LG’s Direct Drive design has no belt, which is part of why these machines last, but a few components still wear out predictably:

• Drain pump: debris in the pump filter or a worn pump, the cause of the classic OE code.
• Door lock and latch: wear on front-loaders leaves the washer refusing to start.
• Rotor position (Hall) sensor and stator bolts: banging, shuddering or a drum that won’t spin.
• Water inlet valves: screens clogged with mineral scale, common on rural well water around Cantley and Val-des-Monts.
• Drum bearings: a jet-engine roar on the spin cycle.

OE: the machine can’t drain (pump filter, drain hose or drain pump). IE: it can’t fill (a closed tap, a kinked hose or a blocked inlet screen). UE: an unbalanced load; when it shows on every cycle, it usually means worn suspension or a levelling problem. LE: a motor lock, often the rotor, the Hall sensor or a jammed drum. dE: a door-lock error. tE: a heating-sensor problem. FE: overfilling, typically a stuck inlet valve.

A code narrows things down, but the same OE can be a five-minute filter clean or a failed pump, and only a proper diagnosis tells you which.

LG Direct Drive motors rarely fail outright and many carry a long manufacturer warranty, so most LG washer problems come down to pumps, latches, sensors and valves: parts that cost a fraction of a new machine and leave you with years of service. The exception is bearing failure on a machine past the ten-year mark, where the labour makes replacement the better buy.
