Washer repair cost in Gatineau

For a home washer, the service call is $89 + tax and includes the visit and a full diagnosis, with the fault codes read and a drain-and-spin test; the repair is then quoted in writing, parts and labour together, and you decide. Approve it and the $89 is applied toward the repair. Commercial machines are $129 + tax.

Which part failed is the first question. A lid switch and a tub bearing can both stop the spin, yet one is a quick swap and the other means taking the machine apart. Front-load or top-load matters for some repairs: a front-loader’s door boot and bearing are bigger jobs than a top-loader’s lid switch and coupler, while a top-loader’s transmission is the dear one on that side.

1. Clean the pump filter every few months (behind the small door at the bottom front of most front-loaders). Coins and lint in the pump are behind a large share of drain and spin calls.
2. Use HE detergent, and less of it. Suds cause “leaks”, odours and sensor faults that are not really faults.
3. Replace rubber supply hoses with braided stainless every five years or so. A burst hose is the most expensive washer failure there is, and it is not a washer part.
