Oven repair in Gatineau

Won’t heat: the bake element

A burnt-out bottom bake element is the most common failure; on gas ovens it is the igniter, and sometimes an open thermal fuse. We test with a multimeter on site.

Broiler dead: the top element

An open broil element, or a relay on the control board that no longer switches it.

Temperature off: burnt cakes or raw middles

Drift in the temperature sensor (RTD) or the control’s calibration. We measure the sensor and the cavity, then recalibrate or replace.

Door won’t close properly

Worn hinges, a damaged gasket or a bent latch. Hinges and gaskets are replaced as needed so the door seals properly again.

Convection fan not running

A failed fan motor or relay; a standard replacement on most models.

Door locked after self-clean

The lock mechanism sticks after a pyrolytic cycle. We release it and replace the mechanism if needed.

Error codes flashing

F1, F2, F3, F9 and brand-specific codes on Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, GE and Bosch ovens each point toward a part, which we confirm before replacing.

Your oven light and clock run on 120 volts, but the heating elements need the full 240. When one side of the supply drops, or the bake element opens, the oven looks alive and stays cold. On a gas oven the usual cause is a weak glow-bar igniter: it still glows, but has lost the current draw the safety valve needs to open, so the burner never gets gas.

Self-clean is the other common trigger. It runs far hotter than baking, which is when a thermal fuse, high-limit thermostat or door-lock motor tends to give out. Gas ovens are less common in Gatineau than electric, and their faults are igniters, safety valves, burners and sensors. Let us know the oven runs on gas when booking; gas visits on the Quebec side are confirmed at that point, at the $129 + tax gas diagnostic. The diagnostic is $89 + tax for electric ovens, applied toward the repair you approve; gas ovens and commercial equipment are $129 + tax. An element, sensor or igniter repair usually costs $150 to $350 all in, while a control board costs more.
