Stacked washer-dryers in King Edward and Laurier triplexes

The classic Sandy Hill rental call is an apartment-size stacked washer-dryer that is either tripping the breaker or pumping water onto the basement floor. Two diagnoses come up most: a worn motor coupling on the washer, a short repair, and a partly blocked dryer vent run through the brick exterior, which the technician checks as part of the diagnosis; some runs need clearing or re-routing, so ask when you book what we can take on. Heritage houses on Russell Avenue, Marlborough Avenue and Sweetland Avenue often run mid-2000s side-by-side fridges, and at that age a compressor failure (the fridge runs constantly and never reaches temperature) is a common late-life call. Gas stove ignition near the university

Around Templeton, Wilbrod and Stewart, many student rentals still have gas stoves from the 1990s. The usual complaint is an igniter that clicks but won’t catch on one or two burners, typically a spark module or a fouled igniter electrode. In Ontario, gas appliance work must be done by a certified gas technician; ours is done by TSSA-certified technicians. Never let an uncertified handyman open a gas appliance.

Dishwasher drain and leak issues in condo buildings

The condo towers near the university and along Daly and Wilbrod often share stack-style plumbing, and a dishwasher that drains into a shared kitchen stack can show a drain error (E24 on a Bosch, for example) when the line is blocked further along. The technician can usually tell on the first visit whether the problem is your dishwasher or the building plumbing.
