Whirlpool washer repair in Gatineau

Standing water in the drum and a growing hamper are the obvious problems; the hidden one is a slow leak under the machine. • Drain faults: a coin or sock reaches the drain pump, the machine stops with a tub full of water and the display shows a long-drain code.
• Lid lock or door latch: top-loaders flash the lid-lock light and refuse to start; front-loaders won’t release the door.
• Shift actuators: on VMW-platform top-loaders, a worn actuator leaves a washer that agitates but won’t spin.
• Suspension rods and shocks: walking, banging spin cycles.
• Control boards and user interfaces: the machine powers on but never starts a cycle.

Whirlpool machines are talkative once you know the dialect. On most current models:

• F9 E1: long drain (pump filter, drain hose or a failing pump)
• F5 E2: lid lock or door latch
• F7 E1: basket-speed sensor or shift-actuator fault on top-loaders
• F8 E1 or LF: not filling (closed taps, kinked inlet hoses or clogged valve screens)
• OL or UL: off-balance or overload; repeating every cycle usually means worn suspension
• LD: long drain on older models

The code points the way, but an F9 E1 can be anything from a clogged filter to a pump that has quit. Testing on site tells the two apart before you pay for a part.

After testing, the technician writes up the parts and labour so you can decide before anything is replaced, and the completed repair is covered by a 3-month warranty on parts and labour (ask for the written terms).
