Repair vs replace — honest answer
Smoothtop glass replacement on units older than 7–8 years often costs more than the cooktop is worth. Induction power-board failures on premium brands (Wolf, Miele) are usually worth fixing because the cooktops cost $3,000–$8,000 to replace. Gas cooktop igniter and switch repairs almost always make sense — these parts are inexpensive and fail predictably.

FAQ
My gas cooktop clicks but won’t light. Is that dangerous?
Not if the gas valve isn’t releasing — the spark is harmless without fuel. But you should still get it repaired quickly. Most likely causes: dirty igniter, failed spark module, or a stuck valve. Don’t try to force the burner.
My smoothtop has a crack — can it be repaired?
Cracked glass-ceramic tops can’t be repaired, only replaced. We can source replacement glass for most brands. Cost varies $250–$700 depending on brand and size.
My induction cooktop says “no pan detected” but I’m using a steel pan.
Could be a magnetic-coupling issue (not all “steel” pans are induction-compatible) or a coil/sensor failure. We test with a known-good pan first to confirm.
Do you repair Wolf, Thermador, and Miele cooktops?
Yes. We service every premium brand. Parts for premium brands sometimes have to be ordered (1–5 business days) — we’ll tell you on arrival.
TSSA gas certification — what does that mean?
TSSA (Technical Standards & Safety Authority) certification is required by Ontario law for any natural-gas or propane appliance work. Don’t let an uncertified tech touch your gas cooktop.
