Washer and washing machine repair in Almonte

Century homes above the falls often have basement laundry with an original laundry tub, a short standpipe or an older cast-iron drain. Those drains matter as much as the washer. A line that runs slowly can push water back out of the standpipe or the tub while the pump empties the drum, which looks like a washer leak but isn’t one.

The opposite happens too. If the drain hose is pushed too far down the standpipe, or the standpipe is lower than the water in the tub, water can siphon out while the machine fills. The washer then keeps filling, runs long or shows a fill or drain code. The technician checks the hose height and the pump output before blaming a part, and tells you when the fix is on the plumbing side.

The countryside toward Clayton and Blakeney runs on private wells. Sand and sediment collect on the small screens at the washer’s inlet valve, so the machine fills a little more slowly each month until a cycle stalls or shows a water-supply code, such as 4C on Samsung or IE on LG. On rural calls we check the screens and the valve as part of the diagnosis.

If your well has a sediment filter, tell us when it was last changed. A clogged filter can starve the washer of pressure in the same way.

Drum full of water

A drum still full of water usually means a clogged pump filter, a sock lodged in the hose or pump, or a drain pump that has failed. The technician drains the machine as part of the diagnosis.

Clothes come out soaked

The spin step never starts when a lid lock or door latch won’t confirm, or when the drive belt, motor coupler or motor control has failed.

Puddles under the machine

Split fill hoses, a worn door boot on a front-loader, a cracked pump or a loose clamp. We trace the source rather than the puddle, and check whether the floor underneath has taken on water.

Codes and blank displays

A code points to a system, not always one part. We read it with the right service information and test the component before quoting, so you are not paying for guesses.

Noise and movement on spin

Worn suspension rods, shock absorbers or drum bearings, or simply a drum overloaded with towels. We tell you which. On some models a bearing failure makes replacement the better choice, and we say so.
