- Conveyor (rack): continuous high-volume washing for hotels, banquet halls and large restaurants.
- Flight-type: belt-driven machines for institutional volumes in cafeterias, schools and hospitals.
- Glass washers: dedicated low-temperature glass washing for bars, with quick cycles that are gentle on barware.
- Pot and pan washers: heavy-duty utensil sanitation with recirculating tanks and a dedicated rinse.
02Problems we troubleshoot
Commercial dishwasher problems and their usual causes
- Not heating water: booster heater element, thermostat, contactor, or supply water arriving too cool at the inlet.
- Final rinse temperature low: below the NSF/HACCP threshold because of the booster, a mixing valve or plumbing temperature. High-temperature machines are built for a final rinse of about 82 °C (180 °F); the reading is documented for your audit file.
- Wash arm not spinning: blocked jets, debris in the wash pump, drive linkage or the motor.
- Detergent or rinse aid not dispensing: dispenser pump, chemical lines, the signal from the controller, or an empty drum.
- Door switches and interlocks: the cycle won’t start because the door safety circuit is interrupted.
- Drain pump issues: slow draining, a tank that won’t empty, a failed pump motor or a restricted drain hose.
- Conveyor and belt drive: belt slip, drive motor, photo-eye sensors and rack jams.
- Control board or PLC: failed displays, error codes and communication faults between modules.
- Stuck cycle or no power: main contactor, transformer, internal fuses or the supply circuit.
- Spotty dishes or poor sanitation: water hardness, rinse-aid mix, spray pattern, cycle time and tank temperature.
03Less downtime
Why dish-machine downtime is expensive, and how we keep it short
A door-type machine out of service for one dinner shift means hand-washing at the three-compartment sink, which slows the whole line. Our process is designed to avoid that:
- Phone-first triage: we ask for the model, any error code and the symptom before the visit, so the technician can bring the most likely parts.
- Experience: in business since 1995, with factory-authorized repairs; our gas work in Ontario is TSSA-certified. Many dish-machine repairs are finished on the first visit when the part is common, though a booster heater, wash motor or control board may have to be ordered.
- Written quote before billable work: labour hours and part costs are set out; you approve, then the work proceeds.
- Documented service: a written report in an audit-friendly format for HACCP, insurance and corporate chain audits.
- 3-month warranty on parts and labour.
The commercial service call is $129 + tax. Major parts such as a booster heater, control board or wash motor are quoted separately after the diagnostic. Visits from 9 PM to 7 AM add a $100 flat after-hours fee to regular rates, and kitchens more than 30 km from downtown Ottawa may have a travel charge, quoted up front.
04Before the visit
Quick checks while you wait
With the machine switched off and cool enough to touch:
- Clean the scrap baskets and strainer screens; a clogged screen causes slow draining and dirty water.
- Make sure the wash and rinse arms are seated and their nozzles are clear.
- Check that detergent and rinse-aid drums aren’t empty and the pick-up tubes are in the product; wear gloves and eye protection, since dish chemicals are corrosive.
- Confirm the hot-water supply valve to the machine is fully open.
Never bypass a door interlock or reach into a tank that is still hot or full of chemical solution.

What does a commercial dishwasher service call cost?
A commercial service call, diagnostic included, is $129 + tax. Parts and labour for the repair are quoted in writing after the diagnostic, and nothing happens without your approval.
Do you handle chemical line and detergent dispenser issues?
Yes: dispenser pump replacement, signal wiring from the controller and chemical line replacement. If your chemical supplier (Ecolab, Auto-Chlor and others) owns the dispensing equipment, we coordinate with them.
Can you provide HACCP and audit documentation?
Yes. You receive a written report covering the diagnostic, parts replaced, labour and warranty terms, in a format that works for HACCP, insurance, landlord-tenant and corporate chain audits, with final-rinse temperature noted when relevant.
Do you also service glass washers and pot and pan washers?
Yes: undercounter glass washers (low-temperature, quick cycle for bars) and pot and pan washers (heavy-duty with a dedicated rinse), with the same diagnostic process and the same 3-month warranty.
